Police in fresh appeal after boy injured in Bothwell hit-and-run

Officers in Lanarkshire are issuing a fresh appeal for information following a hit-and-run involving a child pedestrian in Bothwell.

The 13-year-old boy was struck by what is now believed to have been a grey coloured Vauxhall Corsa around 2.30pm on Monday, 5 April on Main Street.

He was taken to Wishaw General Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.Sergeant Andy Shearer of the Road Policing Unit Motherwell said: “Enquires have established that the car involved was a five door grey Vauxhall Corsa, which would appear to have sustained damage to the front passenger headlamp.

“I am appealing to anyone who might have information, dashcam footage or knowledge of a damaged grey Vauxhall Corsa to get in touch as soon as possible.

“To the driver, I am also making a direct appeal, do the right thing and come forward.”
