Pedestrian killed in Broxburn taxi crash

A PEDESTRIAN has died after being hit by a taxi.

The 32-year-old man was in East Mains Street in Broxburn when the incident happened at around 11.10pm yesterday.

He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved was a Peugeot E7 S taxi.

Police have appealed for information about the incident in the West Lothian town.

Sergeant Gary Taylor said: “At this time, we are trying to establish exactly what has happened to result in this fatal collision and we are keen to hear from any motorists or members of the public who were in the area at the time.

“Officers are also trying to establish the man’s movements prior to this incident and anyone who believes they have information relevant to our investigation is asked to contact police immediately.”
