Pedestrian, 91, who was involved in two-car crash in Nairn dies

A 91-year-old pedestrian who was involved in a two-car crash in Nairn has died, police have confirmed.

The incident happened on Thursday, 21 January, and the man was initially taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

Police are apealling for witnesses after last week’s crash.

Officers were called around 4.50pm to the junction of Thurlow Road and Seafield Street following the collision between a black Mazda, a red Honda and the pedestrian.

Police Sergeant Alasdair MacKay of the Road Policing Unit said: “The man was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment for serious injuries and has now passed away. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

“We are still appealing for information surrounding the crash and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to contact us through 101, quoting reference number 2265 of Thursday, 21 January, 2021.”
