Motorcyclists hospitalised after Caithness crash

THREE motorcyclists were taken to hospital today - one by air ambulance - following a three bike crash in Caithness.

The accident on the A9 Inverness to Wick road at Gartymore, south of Helmsdale, completely closed the busy route for more than two hours.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Three motorbikes were involved in the collision with two riders being taken to Caithness General Hospital in Wick and one flown to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by helimed.

The injuries of the rider taken to Inverness are believed to be serious but not life threatening. The other two riders involved in the collision are have sustained serious injuries but are not thought to be life threatening.”
