Motorcyclist dies in crash on main Scottish road

A motorcyclist has died in a crash on a Scottish main road.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the accident on the A836 in Edderton, near Tain, yesterday.

The man was riding a Honda motorcycle from Ardgay to Edderton at about 3pm when he came off the road and crashed.

Emergency services attended but he died at the scene.

A police spokesman said: “If you were in the area and either saw the bike prior to the crash or the crash itself, or have any dash-cam footage that may assist officers with their investigation, then please call Dingwall Road Policing via 101. Quote reference number 2186 of the 6 March 2020 when calling.”

The road was closed and diversions were put in place while emergency services dealt with the accident.
