Man dies after car hits boulder during meeting of BMW enthusiasts

A 30-year-old man has died after the car he was driving hit a large boulder during a meeting of Polish BMW enthusiasts in Kirkcaldy.

Police said the single-vehicle accident happened at Pathhead Sands in the Fife town at around 4pm on Sunday.

Fife Constabulary are appealing for witnesses or information from anyone who filmed the event.

Inspector Brenda Sinclair said: “I am appealing for information or any material filmed on a mobile phone or other device which would assist us in our enquiries.

“We understand that a number of people who were attending this event left the area prior to the arrival of emergency services, and we would urge them to contact us as they may have information which would help us.

“We also understand that a number of people were using mobile phones and other devices to record the event, and I would appeal to them to contact us and make the material available to us.”
