Man arrested over Haymarket Station assault on Scottish Cup final day

A MAN has been arrested over an alleged assault at a station in Edinburgh on the day of the Scottish Cup final.

A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital with a head injury after an attack at Haymarket station on May 21.

The incident occurred on platform three at about 9.45pm. The victim has since been released from hospital.

British Transport Police said a 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.
