M8 tailbacks after four-car smash near Bathgate

A FOUR-CAR collision caused rush-hour tailbacks on the M8 this morning.

The accident happened at 7.20am on the eastbound carriageway near junction 3a, the off-ramp to Bathgate.

Police said no-one was seriously hurt.

Last night four people were hurt in a car crash near St John’s Hospital, Livingston.

The collision at 6pm on the A705 Cousland Road involved two cars. One person had to be cut free by firefighters.

All four were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment of minor injuries

The road was closed for around two hours as emergency services dealt with the incident.
