M8: Man struck by vehicle as emergency services close Scottish motorway

A man has been struck by a vehicle on the M8 leading to a section of the road being closed by the emergency services.

Diversion are in place at Bishopton in Renfrewshire after the incident which happened on Wednesday afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.20pm police were called to a report of a man having been struck by a vehicle on the M8 eastbound at Bishopton.

A man has been struck by a vehicle on the M8.

"The M8 is closed at Langbank Roundabout with diversions in place.”

Traffic Scotland are warning people of heavy traffic.
