A lorry sparked long delays on the city bypass after a tyre blow-out caused it to mount the central reservation.

The TNT lorry caused traffic chaos and extensive damage when it ploughed into the barriers on the A720 close to the Calder Junction.

The vehicle wasn’t moved by recovery crews until late Tuesday afternoon following the collision at around 7.15am.

No one was injured in the accident.

Traffic was queued as far back as Livingston as traffic into the city became crippled by the collision.
