Inveraray crash motorcyclist dies in hospital

A biker involved in a crash with another motorcyclist has died in hospital.

The 48-year-old man was seriously injured in the crash on the A83 at Strone Point, Inveraray in Argyll, at about 11.40am on Sunday.

He was riding a Honda motorcycle when it was in a collision with a Yamaha bike being ridden by a 34-year-old man.

The 48-year-old was taken to Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital where he died yesterday.

His family have been told and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal, police said.

The second rider was taken to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley with serious injuries.

Inspector Adam McKenzie of Dumbarton road policing has appealed for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have seen the two motorcycles on the A83 between Inveraray and Strone Point.
