Fallen tree smashes ScotRail cab windscreen

The driver was shaken but unhurt in the incident at 7:20am.
ScotRail said the train involved - the 6:50am from Inverness to Edinburgh - then returned to Inverness, where passengers switched to an East Coast train to head south.
The line was re-opened around 8:40am.
A ScotRail spokeswoman said: “No passengers were injured, and the driver was unharmed but understandably shaken.”

Snowdrifts closed the A939 between Cock Bridge and Bridge of Lecht in Aberdeenshire.
