Edinburgh to Perth rail services suspended after person is hit by train

All rail services on the Perth to Edinburgh route have been suspended after a person was hit by a train.

Tweeting about the incident on their official account, Scotrail wrote: "Sadly, a person has been struck by a train between Perth & Ladybank."

The transport firm confirmed that the incident has not affected their Edinburgh to Aberdeen or Glasgow Queen St to Aberdeen/Perth services in either direction.

Those travelling between Fife and Perth are advised to go via Dundee, while those travelling between Perth and Edinburgh direct are advised to travel to Stirling instead and change there for a train to Edinburgh.

The firm also confirmed that previous tickets will be accepted on these services.
