Driver escapes serious injury after car crashes into loch

Police confirmed they were called to the scene after the Ford Focus car left the road and entered the loch with the driver still inside.
The incident occurred at Carlingwark Loch by Castle Douglas around 3.30pm on Tuesday afternoon, luckily, police said the woman hadn’t received any serious injuries but had been taken Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

Hide AdA police statement read: “Officers found a Ford Focus car about 20 meters into the loch with a female driver still inside.
“Emergency services in attendance removed the woman from the car.
“She was uninjured however she was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she is currently undergoing tests.”
