Delays after crane hits railway track in Sutherland
RAIL services are expected to return to normal today after a crane toppled on to the tracks in the Highlands.
Services between Inverness and Wick were affected and a section of the A9 closed after the crane fell on to the railway at the village of Portgower in Sutherland.
The A9 between Helmsdale and Brora was closed in both directions to allow recovery work to take place. A Network Rail spokesman added: “It is hoped a full service will be able run in the morning.”
