Cyclists use pedal power to make point
The weather may have been a let-down but the turn-out certainly did not disappoint at yesterday’s Pedal on Parliament.
An estimated 4000 people turned up for the cycle from the Meadows to the Scottish Parliament, beating last year’s total of 3000.
The cycle was led by the family of Audrey Fyfe, the pensioner who was killed by a careless driver.
Pedal on Parliament is pressuring the Scottish Executive to allocate five per cent of the transport budget to cycling.
Their manifesto also calls for slower speed limits.
