Cyclist injured in Edinburgh Morrison Street crash

A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry in Edinburgh city centre.

The man was knocked off his bike by an HGV belonging to pallet transport firm Dalkeith, on the corner of Morrison Street and Gardener’s Crescent, near the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

Emergency services were called to the incident around 3.40pm on Friday afternoon.

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Gardener’s Crescent was closed off completely by police along with Morrison Street westbound.

A collision investigation unit was also in attendance.

It is not yet clear how serious the man’s injuries are.
