Boy dies and mother fights for life after crash

A 16-MONTH-old boy died and his mother is fighting for her life in hospital after a two-car crash yesterday, which caused serious disruption on a dual carriageway on the outskirts of Aberdeen. Two people in the other vehicle were also injured in the crash on the A944 Kingswells to Westhill Road shortly after 3pm.

Four ambulances and three fire engines attended theincident, which closed the route and motorists were diverted along the A93 North Deeside Road.
