Airport braced for bumper holiday

EDINBURGH airport – Scotland’s busiest – expects to handle 380,000 passengers between yesterday and Tuesday, 3 January.

The predicted total is 10,000 more than the same period last year, when snow disrupted flights. Since then, the airport has nearly doubled its snow-plough fleet from six to 11, at a cost of £1.5 million.
