Aberdeen to Inverness road closed due to crash

THE main Aberdeen to Inverness road has been completely closed to traffic in both directions following a collision involving a total of nine vehicles.

Emergency services raced to the scene of the accident on the southbound carriageway of the A96 between the Glens of Foudland (correct) and Colpy following the crash involving four lorries, three cars and two vans. One person was injured but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the road would be closed for a “few hours” to allow three of the lorries to be recovered.He added: The total number of vehicles involved in the collision was nine: four lorries, one Sprinter van; one small van and three cars.

It is understood that one person was injured but their injuries are not thought to be life threatening. Diversions are in place via Forgue and the Drum of Wartle.
