Transplant anniversary for one of the longest surviving heart-lung patients

ONE of the UK's longest surviving heart-lung transplant patients is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her "ground-breaking" operation today.

Julie Bennett, 45, of Chepstow, will return to Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire, where she underwent surgery in 1985. Doctors said Miss Bennett was the first person with cystic fibrosis to receive the operation at Papworth.
