Train attack on blind passenger

A MAN who is registered blind was punched in the face on a train in an apparent unprovoked assault.

Police said the 28-year-old, who was taken to hospital with a cut lip, was talking on a mobile phone when he was attacked by another passenger.

The man was on the 2:07pm Aberdeen to Edinburgh Waverley train on Monday and was punched at around 4:25pm as the train was in the Haymarket area, near Edinburgh city centre.

British Transport Police said the suspect is about 5ft 8in, in his mid-30s and is stocky with short dark hair. He wore a dark striped top and beige trousers, and left the train at Haymarket station.
