Tragic girl's parents tell of heartbreak

THE parents of a teenager who died suddenly in her sleep have spoken of their devastation.

Jade Middleton, 18, was found dead in her bed by her father Donald when he went to wake her at their home in Wester Inch, Bathgate, on Sunday morning, March 13. He called an ambulance but she could not be revived. Her death remains unexplained.

Mr Middleton said: "We just want something to blame. If somebody said to us, it was an aneurysm or something at least we would know, but all we have been told is that Jade's death was unascertained. She just went to sleep and didn't wake up."

The former St Margaret's Academy pupil worked in the customer service team at the HEROtsc call centre in Larbert.

The family set up a memorial page on Facebook which has been flooded with tributes from friends. Her funeral was held yesterday at Livingston Crematorium.

Her mother Wendy said Jade was fit and well when she went to bed and had made plans for a "girls' night-in" with her the following day. "She always had time for other people and could always cheer people up."
