Tragic fishing pair are named

TWO fishermen who lost their lives in separate incidents off Scotland's coast at the weekend were named by the police yesterday.

The lone creel fisherman, who is still missing since his boat was spotted drifting off the Aberdeenshire coast on Saturday, has been named as Bruce Pearson, 40, of Rosehearty.

A major search was launched at the weekend after his boat Discovery was spotted drifting and unmanned off St Combs.

Meanwhile, the Shetland fisherman who died after falling overboard from a creel boat off Yell on Saturday afternoon was named yesterday as Alan Arthur, 61, from Whalsay.
