Tourism still ‘promising’

TOURISM in West Lothian has remained “stable” and with a “promising outlook” despite the straightened economic climate, tourism chiefs have claimed.

James Bailey, chairman of Visit West Lothian, told an AGM the county’s popularity as a visitor destination has “continued to increase” and said securing the 2013 UK Piping Championships was “great news”.

Restaurants in Livingston had also reported a 30 per cent rise in takings on the previous year.
