Tough anti-poaching laws for Indian state

INDIA's remote Assam state in the country's north-west has introduced tough anti-poaching laws with penalties of up to ten years in prison for killing a rhinoceros, elephant or tiger.

The new legislation is a response to poachers killing at least nine endangered one-horn rhinos this year.
