Tories launch election bid

Scottish Conservative leader Annabel Goldie was today kicking off her party's campaign for the Holyrood elections with an event in Portobello.

The Tories will focus on the influence they claim their group of MSPs has had during four years of SNP minority government on policies, such as the council tax freeze and extra police officers.

Miss Goldie said: "We have used our pivotal position at Holyrood to deliver more than 2 billion worth of improvements to the Scottish Budgets, putting Scottish Conservative policies and principles into action."
