Top restaurant facing closure

ONE of Scotland's top chefs has put an award-winning restaurant into liquidation, it was reported today.

Steve Adair suddenly closed the doors of the Glasshouse restaurant at the Eskmills business complex in Musselburgh earlier this month, saying it was due to a burst pipe.

But it has emerged that provisional liquidators have been appointed for the business, which won a Scottish Style Award.

It comes after Mr Adair clinched a deal with the operators of a new boutique hotel in the Old Town to open a new Glasshouse.

Business rescue and restructuring specialist Begbies Traynor confirmed it has been appointed as provisional liquidator at Mr Adair's request.
