Top officer goes national

THE head of CID at Lothian and Borders Police has been appointed to a top role with the specialist crime division (SCD) of the single Scottish force.

Detective Chief Superintendent Gill Imery will be responsible for divisional crime and leading detective superintendents. She will also have responsibility for public protection, covering issues from offender management to domestic and child abuse.

The newly-formed human trafficking unit and rape taskforce will fall within her remit.
