‘Too fat’ pizza conman ordered to repay Domino’s

Liam Johnston, 21 - who weighs in at 40 stone - was told to save nearly £120 from his benefits by June.

He didn’t appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today after claiming during a previous hearing that he was unable to climb the stairs at the building due to his weight.

Johnston’s lawyer Kevin Dugan produced a letter from his family doctor confirming Johnston was still “medically unfit” to attend.

Sheriff Peter Gillam asked: “Was he fit enough to go to Domino’s and get these pizzas?”

Mr Dugan said: “No, M’lord. He phoned them up.”

Johnston earlier pleaded guilty to obtaining goods by fraud. He admitted pretending to Zaffer Ahmed of Domino’s Bathgate branch that he was the holder of a credit card he used to pay for four meals.

It was only after he had the pizzas delivered to his home in Whitburn, West Lothian, that it emerged the credit card belonged to someone else.

Sentence was deferred for Johnston to pay the compensation. The sheriff also called for an updated medical report.
