Tommy Sheridan taking legal action against tabloid and Scotland Yard
The former Scottish socialist leader has instructed his lawyers to pursue the News of the World and convicted private investigator Glenn Mulcaire after his personal contact details were found in Mulcaire's notebooks.
Former deputy prime minister John Prescott and former Met assistant commissioner Brian Paddick are also taking action against the police for failing to warn them that they were targets for phone hacking by the News of the World.

Hide AdLawyer Aamar Anwar said: "Mr Sheridan wants to know who instructed the hacking, why wasn't there a full and transparent investigation by the Metropolitan Police and why wasn't he informed.
"This won't be an action for damages; it's to find out what went on. It's in the public interest to find out."
