Toddler hurt in car collision

A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy was rushed to hospital with multiple injuries after being hit by a car on Saturday.

The youngster, who has not been named, suffered a broken collar bone, cuts to his head and arm injuries in the accident in Granton.

He was also treated for minor scrapes and bruises.

Ambulance crews drove the boy to the city's Sick Kids hospital for treatment.

Police quizzed the driver of the car, a black Vauxhall Meriva, and spoke to the boy's distressed parents as accident investigators worked at the scene.

A hospital spokesman said the injuries to the youngster were not life threatening.
