Toads jump to new World

A COLONY of bony-headed toads has arrived at Deep Sea World as part of a new captive breeding programme.

The toads, which are found in China, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, were born at the world-renowned Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey.

The plan is for the new arrivals to form their own satellite breeding group at the North Queensferry attraction.

Deep Sea World aquarist Paul Strachan said: "Our colony will assist with work to study the toads' breeding strategies and hopefully help to protect this species."
