Time stands still as Balmoral clock sticks at 12

TIME has once again stood still at the city's Balmoral Hotel owing to a problem with the workings of its clock.

The famous time piece was yesterday stuck at 12 after days of running slow, but bosses insisted the fault would be fixed by the end of the day.

The Balmoral clock stopped at 5:35 in February – the first time it had failed in its 108-year history.

Only a day passed before the complex clock mechanism was fixed by experts James Ritchie & Son, who also look after the Floral Clock in Princes Street Gardens.
