Time please as bar sold

A POPULAR bar in the city centre has been sold.

The lease of Bar Aspen, on South Bridge, has been snapped up by experienced pub operator John Watt after it was on the market for three months.

Barry McNeil, associate director at Christie & Co, which handled the sale, said: "It is reassuring that the market for tied leasehold pubs in city centres continues to be strong.

"It would be premature to suggest that a sudden change in the market was around the corner but we are noticing encouraging signs.

"The market for pub sales is growing, especially in city centres."
