Tim Vine is pick of the bunch

COMEDIAN Tim Vine is this year's winner of the Funniest Joke of the Fringe title.

With nearly 40 per cent of the overall votes, Vine clinched the top spot for his witty one-liner: 'I've just been on a once in a lifetime holiday. I'll tell you what. Never again'.

The award, created by TV channel Dave, sees a panel of judges scour the Fringe to find their three favourite and three worst jokes, which are then put up for the public vote.

Vine, whose Fringe show is a sell-out, said: "I'm going to celebrate by going to Sooty's barbecue and having a sweepsteak".
