Tibet protest march aims for consulate

TIBETANS living in Scotland and their supporters will mark the anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising Day on March 10 with a march through the Capital.

They will depart from The Mound at 1.30pm and walk to the Chinese Consulate in Murrayfield to highlight the Chinese occupation of the country.

Tibetan postgraduate student at the University of Edinburgh, Samdup Tenzin, said: “We will gather today to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters inside Tibet who continue to endure unimaginable suffering under one of the most repressive regimes in the world, and will call on the international community and world leaders to take tangible steps for the speedy resolution of the Tibet issue.”
