Thug is jailed after pair of knife attacks

A VIOLENT thug who stormed into two homes in three days, stabbing the occupants, has been given an eight-and-a-half-year extended sentence.

David Hollywood stabbed his stepfather and another man in Livingston after being freed early from prison, the High Court in Perth heard yesterday.

Hollywood was let out of jail early despite more than a dozen assault convictions and he went to his mother's home with a knife to stab stepfather Ian McKay on 10 December last year.

He used the weapon to stab his victim in the face and on the body and the court heard that Mr McKay was left severely injured and scarred for life.

On 12 December, Hollywood went to the home of William and Tracey McCurry at Falcon Brae, Livingston, and carried out brutal attacks on both of them.

Hollywood, from Livingston, admitted the serious assault upon Mr McKay at his home in Gowanbank, Livingston, and assaulting William and Tracey McCurry at their home.

He also admitted a second charge of attacking Mr McKay by repeatedly trying to hit him on the body with a wooden statue, as well as breaching the peace by threatening to kill him
