Thug batters teen with metal pole

POLICE are hunting a man who attacked a teenager with a metal pole, leaving him with a broken leg and cheekbone.

The 17-year-old victim was with friends at Carrick Knowe Hill at around 12.45am on Sunday when an argument broke out with another male, who head-butted and punched him in the face, before making off towards Carrick Knowe Grove.

He returned a few minutes later with a metal pole, and repeatedly struck the victim around the body before walking off and entering a nearby home. The victim was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
