Three wounded in attack outside pub in Gallowgate

DETECTIVES are appealing for information after three men were attacked in the Gallowgate area of Glasgow at the weekend.

The incident followed an argument between two men in the Wee Man's Bar.

One of the men left and returned a short time later with a friend. These men then assaulted the 49-year-old man who had been involved in the earlier altercation, as he was standing alone outside the bar.

Two other men, aged 47 and 46, came out of the bar and tried to stop the assault, but the two initial suspects, who had weapons, one of which was bladed, also assaulted these two men. The suspects then ran west towards the Calton area.

The suspects are described as white and in their thirties. One had light hair, a dark jacket and jeans. The other was wearing a grey hooded top and tammy hat.

Emergency services were contacted, and all three men were taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The 49-year-old is recovering in a stable condition; the other two were released after treatment.

Police officers are checking CCTV from in and around the area and have been speaking with local residents and revellers from the nearby pubs. Officers are keen, however, for more witnesses to come forward.
