Three injured as police car hits taxi

THREE taxi passengers were hurt today in Clydebank when a police car hit the vehicle they were travelling in.

The marked car was responding to an emergency call when it smashed into the black cab in the Dalmuir area early this morning.

The 37-year-old driver of the police car is in a stable condition in Glasgow's Western Infirmary following the accident on Dumbarton Road at about 12.20am.

Strathclyde Police said his passenger, a 25-year-old male officer, and the taxi driver, a man aged 35, were released following treatment for minor injuries.
