Three in hospital after home fire

THREE people were taken to hospital yesterday after a fire started in a nursing home bedroom.

Four fire engines were sent to St Johnstoun's Nursing Home in Perth and 11 residents were evacuated after the blaze began just before 6:20am.

Three ambulances also attended the scene in Barossa Place.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Fire and Rescue Service said: "One resident and two members of staff were taken to hospital as a precaution."
