Three in hospital after Aberdeenshire car crash

AN eight-year-old boy is among three people in hospital with serious injuries after a two vehicle crash.

He was a front seat passenger in a blue Ford Fiesta driven by his 40-year-old father when it was in a collision with a silver Ford Mondeo driven by a 68-year-old man.

All three were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after the crash, which happened on the A96 at Bainshole near Huntly, Aberdeenshire, at around 3.10pm yesterday. Their condition is described as stable.

The road was closed for seven hours while police carried out investigations.

Sergeant Rob Warnock of the Road Policing Department said: “Our inquiries are at an early stage and we are keeping an open mind. I appeal for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward irrespective of how insignificant they may think their information is.”
