Three die in horror blaze

THREE people have died after a fire broke out at a block of flats, police said today.

Fire crews were called to a flat in Acre Road in the Maryhill area of Glasgow at 11.37pm yesterday.

Three people were rescued from the flat suffering from "severe" smoke inhalation.

They received first aid from firefighters but were confirmed dead at the scene.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service could not confirm the ages or gender of the occupants of the flat.
