Three dead in Caucasus violence

A SECURITY officer, a Russian soldier and a militant suspect have been killed in separate incidents in Russia's North Caucasus, officials said last night.

An offical in Dagestan said an officer of the Federal Security Service was shot dead in the provincial capital, Makhachkala. A militant suspected of training suicide bombers for an attack on Moscow was also shot.
