Three cut free after car crash

FIREFIGHTERS cut three people free from a car after it crashed in the city in wet conditions at the weekend.

The blue Mini lost control just after 8am on Saturday on Old Dalkeith Road, at the junction with Craigmillar Castle Road.

Only one car was involved in the incident which led to police closing the road for an hour.

Hydraulic cutting equipment was used by firefighters to slice the roof off the vehicle and free its occupants, who all suffered "moderate injuries".
