Three arrested over North Ayrshire death

Three men have been arrested in connection with the death of a 30-year-old man.

Police say they were called to a disturbance in a house in Wheatley Road in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire at 4.50am yesterday.

Scott Blackwood died at the scene, and his relatives have been informed.

A police spokesman said: “Emergency services attended but the 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He can be named as Scott Blackwood of Wheatley Road, Saltcoats.”

The men, aged 26, 27 and 35, are in police custody and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

They are expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
