Thistle do just right for Lord Patel

THE Queen has formally installed the first Scottish Asian to be made a Knight of the Order of the Thistle.

Lord Patel of Dunkeld, a retired consultant obstetrician and academic, was honoured at St Giles' Cathedral.

A fanfare marked the start of the event, and the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Princess Royal joined a procession to the Thistle Chapel.
