This is the Scottish beach named as one of Britain's best
It is a popular seaside town, known as one of Scotland’s premier beach resorts in the 19th century, where holidaymakers flocked due to cheap transport.
Now a survey, by mother and baby retailer JoJo Maman Bébé, has named Portobello, near Edinburgh, as among the best city and town beaches in the UK which include close proximity to shops and restaurants.

Hide AdEach beach has been ranked using Google Maps, looking at its overall visitor rating, how many reviews it has received, and the city or town it is located near. A weighted rank was then calculated to give an overall beach score out of 100.
Portobello Beach took second place, with an overall beach score of 94 based on 6,307 reviews and an average 4.6 visitor rating. The study also ranked Edinburgh as the best family-friendly UK city - making it ideal for enjoying a weekend trip or ticking off a few attractions in one day.
Whitby, in northern England, came in first place as the best coastal town or city, with a nearly perfect beach score of 98 out of 100. The Yorkshire beach has an average visitor rating of 4.7 out of 5, 6,699 reviews and can be accessed by train or car.
Scarborough and Brighton and Hove are in third and fourth place.
