Thief sees sentence cut by two months after appeal

A THIEF who was jailed for 12 months for a break-in where computers worth £3000 were stolen has had his sentence cut by two months on appeal.

Christopher Cornwall pleaded guilty in August to two charges of breaking into offices in Gorebridge and stealing the equipment.

Lord Carloway heard his appeal and ruled that Cornwall’s sentence should be reduced as there ought to have been a discount given for his guilty plea.
